Art Gallery Quilt

I made an EPP kit for my friend and add scraps of fabric to it whenever I make a quilt.  As a thank you she purchased a yummy fat quarter stack of Art Gallery fabrics for me.  The stack came with a pattern and I added some fabric to make it a bit bigger.

I love the almost silky feel of Art Gallery fabrics.  The backing is quite possibly one of my all time favorites.

My quilt holder wanted her own photo op since she stood out in the rain so I could get some photos.

I was hoping for some good river photos but it is a rainy gloomy Memorial Day.

Swoon

I have had the Swoon quilt pattern for ages...in fact I have the original Swoon quilt kit in my closet.  I love the pattern and the fabric but never committed to making it...I think it was a time issue.

I decided to make a Christmas Swoon using Kate Spain's Solstice line and I am in love!  I can't wait to make my Swoon quilt with the Bonnie and Camille fabrics. I have fabric to make myself a Swoon Christmas quilt but I think I may make he new Swoon pattern.

I have 6 blocks finished and 3 to go.  I should probably call my long arm quilter and make an appointment to get this lovely quilted.

Swoon

I'm in love!  I don't know why I waited so long to jump on the swoon bandwagon. I am making a Christmas Swoon using Kate Spain's Solstice line.

Since I have the perfect trimmings from the flying geese blocks I'm making little pinwheel blocks for a table topper for my husband's grandmother for Christmas.

Charity Knitting

I finished up a knitted baby blanket for my daughters' school's annual collection for the Lullaby League.
It's a super easy pattern and the blanket turned out nice and cuddly.  Yeah to using up yarn that has been in my fabric closet for years...knitting was my before quilting activity 😊

A gift for my Godmother

My Godmother is Ukranian and I knew when I saw this fabric that I wanted to make her a quilt.  The pattern is Little Doll and the fabric is from their Little Matryoshka line.  I added a 3.5 inch border to make the quilt closer to lap size.

I am not a fan of fussy cutting, especially on the bias!

Sibling Quilt

A few weeks ago I made a memory quilt for a family that lost their 2 year old daughter to a rare and fatal genetic disorder.  I had cut strips to make a little quilt for the baby they are expecting.

They found out they are having a boy, so the sibling quilt is a little girly for him, but he'll have a piece of his sister with him.

Please pray for this family because they also learned that the little boy they are carrying suffers from anencephaly.  The quilt is heading out in Monday's mail they can have it before baby Luca arrives.

The front and back of the quilt are made with strips from the pillow cases with wool batting, quilted in a meandering pattern with machine bound binding.
